Dizziness and headaches are different

A headache is caused by congestion of blood vessels in the head, or blood cannot flow through; while dizziness is caused by lack of blood, or blood cannot flow up.

For example, headaches caused by colds are caused by congestion of blood vessels, so Chinese medicine uses Guizhi Decoction, Mahuang Decoction, Mahuang Fuzi Xixin Decoction, etc. to restore blood flow. So once you sweat, not only will the fever be relieved, but the headache will also be relieved. This is the treatment method of Chinese medicine.

Some people have headaches caused by internal heat, such as sunbathing or working in a hot and humid environment. This kind of headache makes people unable to sleep. The top of the head is hot, or the sides of the head are painful. If the pain is on both sides of the head, it is generally liver fire, which is the symptom of Longdan Xiegan. If the pain is on the top of the head, the chance of heatstroke is relatively high, then Zhengqi water can be used.

Some people have headaches, which are neither caused by colds nor getting angry, but by blood stasis. The pain is terrible, and some people need to take painkillers to relieve it. In this case, you need to activate blood circulation, remove blood stasis, and dispel wind. You can refer to the Zhengtian Pills I talked about last time.

When I was talking about Zhengtian Pills, a fan commented that his father-in-law always had headaches for several years. Later, I bought him Zhengtian Pills, and he got better after taking them. As a result, he was named a good son-in-law! He told everyone that if it wasn’t for his son-in-law buying this medicine, he would still have headaches now! So you have to understand Chinese medicine, maybe people will let their daughters marry you, haha…

Dizziness is different from headaches. As mentioned above, low blood pressure can cause dizziness. This is something everyone knows. Doesn’t dizziness caused by low blood pressure prove that blood can’t flow up? So you can just replenish qi, which can raise blood pressure, or you can use the idea of supporting yang.

As for dizziness caused by low blood sugar, eating some sugar can relieve it, but it can only relieve it. So many people have sugar in their pockets to prevent low blood sugar, but is it good to eat sugar? Obviously not. In Chinese medicine, it is insufficient function, or insufficient energy. The idea of replenishing qi and nourishing blood is used. For example, my spring dizziness recipe is based on the idea of replenishing qi, raising yang and nourishing blood.

Some people feel dizzy because of dampness, which is more common in the elderly. For example, when it rains frequently or the weather gets cold, many people feel dizzy when they wake up from a nap. Those with severe dampness cannot turn their heads, as turning their heads will make them even more dizzy. This is the condition of warming the yang and dispersing dampness, which is the symptom of Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang. This prescription is for warming the yang and benefiting the water.

Some people suffer from cervical spondylosis, which usually occurs in people who watch computers or mobile phones for a long time. If the dizziness is caused by cervical discomfort, if there is discomfort in the cervical spine, you should use Pueraria lobata soup with Millettia reticulata, Stretching tendon grass, etc. The idea of dispelling cold and unblocking meridians is that the qi and blood in the back can go up, and the dizziness will naturally be relieved.

Of course, there are other special ones, so I won’t mention them here. If these common ones can be solved, it can be regarded as helping yourself or your family. So it is good for ordinary people to learn Chinese medicine and be able to solve small daily problems. If small problems can be solved, naturally big problems will not arise. Why not do it?

People often ask me: Doctor, I want to learn Chinese medicine, what books should I read first, and how can I study systematically? I tell you: buy a medical book, read it for a few days and you will not read it again, let alone study systematically, so there is no need to do this, whatever problem you encounter, just read it, and you will be able to solve it slowly, this is called learning to apply, and it is also the simplest and most effective learning method.
